Conditions we treat

Expert podiatry care for a range of foot conditions.

Six core areas of treatment — each diagnosed carefully, then managed with a personalised plan to relieve pain and prevent recurrence.

Ingrown toenail treatment
01

Ingrown Toenails

Occurs when the nail edge grows into the surrounding skin — causing severe pain and risk of infection. Causes include trauma, sport, ill-fitting shoes, incorrect cutting and heredity. For chronic or severe cases, surgical Partial (PNA) or Total (TNA) Nail Avulsion is performed under local anaesthetic, with excellent outcomes.

  • Conservative treatment
  • Partial Nail Avulsion (PNA)
  • Total Nail Avulsion (TNA)
  • Local anaesthetic
Heel and arch pain assessment
02

Heel & Arch Pain

Pain can stem from plantar fasciitis, stress fractures, Achilles tendinopathy, nerve entrapment and more. Plantar fasciitis — the most common condition we treat — often causes heel or arch pain. After diagnosis, a personalised treatment plan is developed to relieve pain and promote recovery.

  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Stress fractures
  • Achilles tendinopathy
  • Nerve entrapment
  • Custom orthotics
Verrucae and plantar wart treatment
03

Verrucae (Plantar Warts)

Caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV), verrucae appear as well-defined, cauliflower-textured lesions often ringed by callus. They can be painful in weight-bearing areas and are highly contagious — commonly spread in pools, showers and gyms. We offer a range of treatment options to remove and manage them effectively.

  • Topical treatments
  • Cryotherapy
  • Swift microwave therapy
Corn and callus treatment
04

Corns & Calluses

Both form from repeated pressure or friction. Calluses are thicker patches of skin; corns are smaller, hardened areas that often develop a painful core. We safely remove corns and reduce calluses while addressing the underlying cause to prevent them returning.

Diabetic Foot Conditions

Diabetes can cause nerve damage (neuropathy) and loss of sensation, raising the risk of unnoticed injuries that develop into ulcers. Footprint Podiatry plays a crucial role in prevention and management — regular check-ups are essential. Our lead podiatrist divides her time between the Auckland Diabetes Centre and the clinic, bringing specialist insight to your care.
